Day 2: Set Realistic Writing Goals
Set yourself up for daily wins!
Here’s the deal. Many of us sabotage ourselves by setting writing goals that look fantastic on paper but are nowhere near realistic for everyday life. You know the goals: I’ll write for two hours every day, or I’ll finish five chapters this week.
But that’s not what this challenge is about. The Write Track is about building a writing habit you can actually stick with, even when life gets busy.
Today’s goal: Let go of perfection. Embrace consistency.
The most powerful writing habit is one you can do on your busiest day. So, you may write for 15 minutes before bed or write 100 words while on your lunch break. Whatever your goal is, choose something doable and so small that you’ll have no excuses.
So, what does this look like in real life?
Take a moment today to picture your writing life 30 days from now. What’s changed? What does it feel like to show up with confidence and consistency? Then work backward. What’s the minimum daily commitment you’re willing to make that will move you in that direction?
That’s your job today. Set your goal. Make it realistic. And own it.
